DC:0-5™ aims to:
- Identify mental health and developmental challenges early in life
- Inform the creation of a developmentally appropriate, and family centered treatment plan
- Provide an approach to diagnosis from an Infant Early Childhood Mental Health perspective which is developmentally informed, relationship based, contextual and culturally responsive
Learning more about the DC:0-5™ is helpful for:
- Those who are directly involved in the developmental and mental health evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children birth to 5 years of age.
- Professionals who work to support infants, young children, and their families, but for whom diagnoses are not within their scope of professional practice or license.
- A deeper familiarity with the diagnostic process through exposure as a participant observer aims to sharpen observational skills and awareness when a referral to a mental health professional may be appropriate, and to more precisely address the individual diagnostic profiles of the infants and children you serve.
