Each month we will partner with a different service sector in RI to learn from local leaders about how their unique programs might be aligned with (or informed by) the Strong Roots model. We will discuss the needs of the workforce to implement programs that hold relationships in mind for the wellbeing of RI’s babies. We will continue to discuss the 5 core components of the model (attachment-based parenting, supported parent-child interactions, enhanced social support, connection to culturally relevant community resources, and provider self care) in relation to the different sectors. We will also center discussions around issues of race, power, inequity and bias as we explore implications for mental health and wellbeing of infants, young children, and their families.
Next session dates: 4/27, 5/25, 9/28, and 10/12.
All sessions in this series offer: CNE, NASW, and CELP Continuing Education Units and Professional Development credits.
