Infant/Early Childhood Mental Health
Community Conversation Series

November 18, 2019

Speakers:  Stephanie Umaschi, PhD. & Elaine Gabellieri

Topic:  Partnering to Support and Learn from Foster Families

Foster families provide essential care and essential relationships for infants and young children who have experienced trauma. These fostering relationships present both challenges and opportunities. This session will discuss a partnership between the Center for Evidence Based Practice at Bradley Hospital and The Village for Rhode Island Foster and Adoptive Families. This partnership brings the knowledge, experience, needs of foster families together with the knowledge and experience of the Bradley professionals in a joint effort to create a supportive system – one that grows from relationships among adults with the shared purpose of supporting infants, young children, and their relationships with all of the adults who touch their lives.
