Frontlines of the Opioid Crisis: Innovative Science-Based Solutions

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Office of the Vice President for Research at Brown University present a keynote and panel discussion about research-based creative approaches to the opioid crisis. 

The keynote speaker is Michael Botticelli, Executive Director, Grayken Center for Addiction at Boston Medical Center, former Director of National Drug Control Policy at the White House. 

Panelists include:

  • Nicole Alexander-Scott, MD, MPH, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health; Associate Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice 
  • Traci Green, Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine; Adjunct Associate Professor of Epidemiology; principal investigator Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Opioids and Overdose 
  • Brandon Marshall, Associate Professor of Epidemiology 
  • Josiah Rich, Professor of Medicine; Professor of Epidemiology; principal investigator Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Opioids and Overdose
