Session #6:

Open Doors RI: Women and Children's House

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Description:  During this session, participants will hear from professionals in RI who support women and young children who have experienced homelessness, incarceration, and/or addiction. The session will highlight the Open Doors RI Women and Children’s House, its programs, services, and resources. The speakers will share their stories and highlight how lived experiences inform the work within the program. The speakers will share examples of how facing trauma and adverse experiences impacts families, and how supports given "keep babies in mind" and honor families, strength, communities, and culture. The discussion will include an opportunity for small group discussion and a questions and answer portion.

Registration fee:

- RIAIMH Members:  NO COST with active 2024 membership

- Non-Members:  $40/session

- Undergraduate and Graduate Students:  NO COST with valid student email entered during registration

CEUs:   

- NASW (Social Work) Continuing Education Units 

$30/session (small online CC fee applied)

- CELP (Center for Early Learning Professionals) contact hour no cost for participants

IECMH-Competencies toward IECMH-Endorsement® - suggested competencies noted on event participation certificate. Suggested competencies for this session: Theoretical Foundations: Attachment, separation, trauma, grief and loss (1h); Expertise: Community Resources (1h) IMH Endorsement® applicants may select other appropriate IMH Competencies®
